What we collect, what we never collect, and how the record stays aligned with FERPA. No advertisers, no data brokers, no student answer content leaving the practice surface.

An account email, a username, hashed password, and the questions you answer with their timestamps. Coach accounts also store roster membership and assignment metadata. No advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or fingerprinting.
Government identifiers, health data, biometrics, location data, contacts, calendar, browsing history outside our app, or any data from minors below the age our platform is designed for. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
Lonestar Academics is built to align with the U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Schools that use Lonestar Academics for their students may sign a data processing agreement that designates Lonestar Academics as a school official with a legitimate educational interest in roster data. Coaches see only practice activity for students on their roster, never keystroke logs, time-of-day surveillance, or data outside the practice surface.
Practice attempts power your spaced-repetition queue, accuracy charts, and the coach console. Aggregate, de-identified question-bank coverage informs editorial decisions about which contests to ingest next.
We use Resend for transactional email (password reset and verification), Sentry for error tracking with PII disabled, and Web3Forms to deliver messages you send through our contact form (the name, email, and message you type there). We do not process payments, because the service is free. We do not use advertising networks, behavioral analytics vendors, or third-party data brokers. No subprocessor receives student answer content.
You can download a complete JSON export of your account at any time from Settings → Your data. The export includes your profile, every practice answer, every session, the spaced-review queue, your streak, and your bookmarks, everything the coach console can see plus everything the practice loop reads.
We keep attempt logs for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your personal record within 30 days. Analytics-reset snapshots are retained while your account is active and deleted with your account. De-identified, aggregated metrics may persist in analytics datasets.
Submit any data request, including export, correction, or deletion, through our contact form at lonestaracademics.com/contact. Schools should route requests through their district's data protection officer.
Lonestar Academics is intended for students age 13 and older. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we delete it promptly. Where a school provides Lonestar Academics to students under 13, the school provides the consent required under COPPA and acts as the educational institution under FERPA.
